FAQ

We’ve compiled a list of some very common questions. If you have any that aren’t listed here, please use our contact form for assistance.

What type of camera do you use?
We use a small, lightweight camera that can shoot up to 12MP still photos and up to 4K video.

What type of aircraft is it?
We are currently flying the DJI Phantom 4 Professional. The aircraft is a radio-controlled multirotor helicopter, or quadcopter. It is GPS guided and computer stabilized.

How long can it stay in the air?
The lithium polymer, LiPo, batteries gives us a flight time of approximately 23 minutes per battery. We always travel with extra batteries so flight time at the site should never be an issue.

How far can you fly it?
FAA regulations dictate that it must be  flown at or below 400 feet above ground level and at a any distance that it remains in Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) to the observer. VLOS is usually between 600-1500 feet depending on the weather conditions.

Can you fly it close above or through a crowd of people?
No, based on FAA regulations and for safety reasons, we will minimize any time above unprotected persons who are not directly connected to the work being done.

Can I get you to spy on someone?
Of course not! We use our flying camera only for legitimate, ethical purposes. Plus the detail at our normal operating height is useless for the viewing of people.

Do you guarantee your work?
We guarantee only the timely delivery of the photos and/or video, not the quality of their content. Some locations and/or subject matters photograph better than others. Dense foliage and obstructions such as towers, power lines, and unsightly surroundings can all contribute to less than ideal results. These things will be noted in our initial check of the area. If we simply cannot shoot on the scheduled date & time due to weather, we will re-schedule.
